Joint Or Tendon Injections

Joint injections are incredibly useful in the treatment of aging or damaged joints. Using Ultrasound guidance to ensure exact placement, corticosteroids are injected into the joint or tendon being treated.  This will decrease the inflammation surrounding the affected area, and reduce or eliminate the pain it causes.

Some common conditions that can be treated are arthritis, osteoarthritis, bursitis, and gout.

Epidural Steroid Injections

An Epidural Steroid Injection (or ESI) is used to help relieve pain caused by inflamed spinal nerves. Patients with disc herniation, or spinal stenosis may experience pain in their neck, arms or legs because of the pressure caused by the disc inflammation. A corticosteroid is injected into the epidural space in the spine that will reduce the swelling of inflamed nerves. Using an X-ray fluoroscopy to ensure accurate placement ensures the injection is placed into the correct location. This is very important because there can be risk associated with the needle being placed incorrectly.  Our physicians are specialized in both imaging and treatments, ensuring the safest and best outcome available.

Kyphoplasty or Vertebroplasty

Spinal Compression fractures or a break in one of your vertebra can be treated with a combination of minimally invasive procedures called Vertebroplasty and Kyphoplasty. Vertebroplasty uses contrast enhanced fluoroscopy to guide a bone biopsy needle into the fractured vertebra. Real-time imaging is necessary to position the needle inside the vertebral fracture without damaging an nearby critical structure, such as the spinal cord. A special bone cement is injected under pressure directly the fractured vertebra. This cement fills the cracks within the bone to create a type of internal cast to stabilize it. Within 10 minutes the cement has hardened and the bone will be stabilized. Kyphoplasty can be done before the cement is added to create more space if needed. A small balloon is inserted to make space for the cement, then removed after it is injected.

Lumbar Puncture

Lumbar puncture (also known as a spinal tap) is a medical procedure in which a needle is inserted into the spinal canal, most commonly to collect cerebrospinal fluid for diagnostic testing. The most common use is in diagnosing diseases of the central nervous system, including the brain and spine. Examples of these conditions include meningitis and subarachnoid hemorrhage. In some conditions it may also be used therapeutically to administer intrathecal (IT) chemotherapeutic agents.

Nerve Block

A nerve block is an injection to decrease inflammation or “turn off” a pain signal along a specific distribution of nerve. Imaging guidance may be used to place the needle in the most appropriate location for maximum benefit. A nerve block may allow a damaged nerve time to heal, provide temporary pain relief and help identify a more specific cause of pain.

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy

What Can We Treat?

Arthritis – Torn tendons and ligaments – Muscle injuries – Tennis elbow – Golfers elbow – Achilles injuries – Plantar Fasciitis – Lateral Epicondylitis – Patellar Tendinitis – Medial Collateral LIG – Hamstring Tendinopathy – Partial rotator cuff tears

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) is a procedure that uses your body’s natural healing properties to decrease the amount of time it takes to heal injuries to tendons, ligaments, and muscles. Often PRP is used to help treat a tear caused by a recent athletic injury or to help joint pain.

This procedure is relatively simple, minimally invasive, and performed in an outpatient environment.  And it only takes about 30 minutes.

Stem Cell Therapy

This Cutting Edge Outpatient Procedure Uses The Healing Properties Of Your Own Body

WHAT ARE STEM CELLS?

Stem cells are fundamentally the building blocks of life and have the potential to differentiate into many different types of cells within the body. They are actively involved in repairing, regenerating, and rebuilding damaged or absent tissue in the body that has been affected by disease, infection, or injury.

HOW DO STEM CELLS HEAL?

Receptors on stem cells allow them to migrate to areas that need healing and effect change in that area, potentially becoming new cells in the area and create new tissue to help improve functionality. They secrete chemicals which activate and attract your body’s native stem cells to initial tissue regeneration. There are numerous scientific evidence that show amazing reparative potential of these cells.

We use only your body’s natural stem cells. These are acquired by doing a bone marrow aspiration. Then we prepare and inject your stem cells into the region needing treatment. Because we use only the freshest dose of stem cells your body has a much better ability to put to work these healing properties.  This entire process is done in all one appointment to ensure the freshness of the dose.

Carpal Tunnel Release

Using an ultrasound guided microsurgery treatment, patients can be pain free and recover movement in minutes.   While CTR surgery is not new, technology has brought a new tool to this treatment that significantly reduces recovery time.  The treatment itself is done in minutes and has safety measures that ensure success.

CTR microsurgery is done in our clinic, so avoids costly hospital fees.   This affordable treatment can be paid out of your HSA account, and is often much less expensive than other forms of Carpal Tunnel Release surgery.
