Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE) for Knee Pain Relief
A minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment for chronic knee pain caused by osteoarthritis. If knee pain is limiting your mobility and daily life, GAE may offer lasting relief—without surgery or long recovery times.
✔ Minimally invasive (no surgery)
✔ No long recovery time
✔ Outpatient procedure
✔ Reduced pain and inflammation
✔ Improved mobility
What Causes Knee Pain?
Osteoarthritis occurs when the protective cartilage in your knee gradually breaks down. This leads to inflammation in the joint lining, resulting in:
- Persistent pain
- Swelling
- Stiffness
- Reduced mobility

How Does GAE Work?
During the procedure, a small catheter is guided into the arteries supplying the knee. Tiny particles are then used to reduce blood flow to inflamed tissue.
By decreasing inflammation, GAE helps:
- Reduce chronic knee pain
- Improve mobility
- Delay or avoid surgery
Is GAE Right for You?
You may be a candidate for Genicular Artery Embolization if you:
- Have moderate to severe knee pain from osteoarthritis
- Have not found relief from medications, injections, or physical therapy
- Want to avoid or delay knee replacement surgery
- Do not have advanced joint deformity
